So when I heard talk of chainsaws and tree-fellers I had to think quickly and do a bit of tree magic. We're good at that sort of thing you know.
Planting seeds in people's minds is a subtle process and can be a bit tricky but catch them when they're unawares ~ that's the way to do it. They love their garden, these Cundys', so catching them isn't hard ~ they're always in it you see. The art of tree magic is make 'em think it's their own thoughts - you get me? Easy.
So I got to work planting... You could really do with a writing den Mrs C, a designated space that's what you need, and what better place than the garden? That was easy, she's desperate for her own little office, somewhere she can keep all her stuff.
Ian took a bit more work... Mrs C needs a writing den NOT a shed like you, honest. It'll be a great project to get your teeth into and you won't have to fork out loads of money to chop that big old Eucalyptus down, really. Hey, how about building something around the tree - wouldn't that be something else? Just think of how much fun it'll be not to mention how grateful the Mrs'll be eh? (nudge nudge with a swooping branch) Even better! Well that seemed to do it. Funny how thoughts of hammers and banging around can turn a man's mind. Anyway, it wasn't long before Mr C had his tape measure out and all that old wood he'd been stacking away at work found its way at the bottom of the garden around me.
The project had begun.
And I have to say, he's not done a bad job so far. In fact its getting better all the time, the more oohs and aahs he gets from Mrs C the more he seems to get stuck in. Funny that.
I told you there's nothing like a bit of Tree Magic.
Watch this space.
